Elders Program

Located in Girdwood, AK, the Elders Program, part of APIA, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our community's seniors through comprehensive support and essential services. We offer vital assistance with basic needs such as caregiver training, case management, and access to durable medical equipment. Our program also provides Consumer Directed Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services, respite support, and educational resources to prevent falls and injuries. In addition, we facilitate Medicare and Medicaid assistance, along with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) to enrich community involvement. Each month, seniors can benefit from our Elder Food Boxes and engaging social events like teas and potlucks. We prioritize transportation for elderly residents in the Anchorage area and provide advocacy, resource assistance, and specialized training programs, including Older Adult Mental Health First Aid. Our mission is to foster a supportive environment that empowers our seniors to maintain their health and independence.
