Elders Program

The Elders Program at Fort Wainwright, AK is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in our community through essential support services and comprehensive assistance. We aim to empower older adults with caregiver training, case management, access to durable medical equipment, and personal care assistant services. Our mission also includes providing respite services and education on fall and injury prevention. Additionally, we offer vital Medicare and Medicaid assistance, a retired senior volunteer program, and monthly food boxes to ensure that no elder goes hungry. Social engagement is fostered through our monthly elder teas and potlucks, while transportation services within the Anchorage area help seniors maintain their independence. Our advocacy and resource assistance ensure that older adults receive the support they need for a healthy and fulfilling life. We also provide training opportunities like Gatekeeper and Older Adult Mental Health First Aid, reinforcing our commitment to the well-being of our community's seniors.
