Foster Grandparent Programs

The Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) enhances community well-being by connecting seniors aged 55 and older with children who have special needs. This AmeriCorps Seniors initiative enables experienced mentors to serve as loving caregivers, tutors, and role models, offering invaluable one-on-one support in schools, childcare centers, and more. Volunteers commit between 15 to 40 hours weekly, receiving a modest, tax-free stipend along with transportation reimbursement, meals, and training. By addressing the needs of youth facing challenges such as neglect or learning difficulties, FGP fosters nurturing relationships that contribute to brighter futures.
