MOVE! Weight Management Program

The MOVE! Weight Management Program, located in Alakanuk, AK, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Veterans through comprehensive weight management and health promotion initiatives. Our mission is to ensure that every Veteran receiving care at VA facilities is screened for obesity on an annual basis and is provided with personalized referrals to suitable weight management services. We offer a range of care options designed to meet the diverse needs and preferences of our Veterans, including engaging group sessions, convenient telephone lifestyle coaching, and innovative tools such as TeleMOVE! for in-home support. For those looking for self-guided solutions, the MOVE! Coach mobile app allows Veterans to manage their weight independently. Additionally, we provide access to weight loss medications and bariatric surgery for those who continue to face challenges after engaging with our core program.
