Sexual health vs relations?

AshleyBxt September 4th

hi as a listener i feel like i always make it clear that i address topics with women's sexual health but not with sexual relations,

so as a reference i just wanted to ask and see how others saw the difference between the 2 topics

@AshleyBxt

How do you see the difference since they seem connected as one may show issues with the other?

@AshleyBxt I feel like sexual health can encompass a lot. If a listener told me a similar boundary, I would want clarification if it were a chat topic I was seeking support on.

@AshleyBxt Hi! That’s a great question. Women’s sexual health and sexual relations are indeed distinct topics, though they can be interconnected.

Women’s sexual health typically refers to aspects of physical and mental well-being related to reproductive functions, such as menstruation, menopause, and contraception. It’s about addressing health issues and medical concerns related to reproductive health.

Sexual relations, however, often involve discussions about intimacy, emotional connections, and interpersonal dynamics. It focuses more on the relational and emotional aspects of sexuality.

Personally, I might use “women’s reproductive health” to discuss sexual health topics.  I think this distinction can help make the boundaries clearer for both listeners and those seeking support.

I hope this helps clarify things. Feel free to share any more thoughts or questions you might have!
