Poems - Writing as coping
I figured some of us in here use writing to cope and to express ourselves, i know i do, so here´s a thread for sharing whatever we´ve written with each other for inspiration - ill start with a poem ive written called guide your way:
Guide your way
I don’t know the way out of your forest
But I will stay with you in the neck of them
I will walk with you till our feet ache and my body is nothing more than a tree stump
Because my face is a map
And although I don’t have a GPS that leads to the road outside the forest
Although I don’t know what I am doing or how I ended up here
In this woodland
I will guide you the way back to yours
You´ll just have to follow the stars on my cheek
Learn something from the flowers you pass
Maybe you´ll even fall in love with how the moon still lights up when night approaches
You´ll realize that every time you take a breath
You are inhaling the dust from the leaves
Exhaling the gravel from beneath your feet
A breath might seem to just be an echo
An echo that only I seem to be able to hear
But I promise that when a tree falls in your forest
It will always make a sound
Because I´ll always be there to hear it
If I haven’t even realised that the tree is solely a branch, you chose to crack
If I lost my own way
If the insects from the earth surround me with their tingling, biting bones
And even if I could never get out of the jungle that isn’t even mine
I´d stay here until the jungle became a desert
I´d stay here until the desert became nothing
I´d stay here until I realize that even though I am still just a child
I have always been as old as the thousand rings from the tree stumps that I live next to now.
Because I do not know what love is
If it is not sacrifice.
Insightful. I used to write a lot of poetry, have you checked out the app "All poetry" there is an entire community where you can share and get feedback on your poems?
