Our Mission
I started this section and called it Glens nook. I plan on hanging out here more often. Ill listen, share my thinking with you, and hope to get to know many of you as we continue to grow our community.
We wanted to share our mission with you before publishing it. We believe that every voice is important and every voice matters. Please share your thoughts on our mission below.
Our Mission:
7 Cups of Tea is for anyone who wants to live in a world where the human experience is free from stigma and stereotypes and rich with love and support. A world where all 7 billion of us can grow and feel like we truly belong.
We believe that each one of us is inherently valuable. We do not measure people based on where they are from, what they look like, or what position they hold. We recognize that people make sense in the larger story of their lives. We understand that people are complicated and that life is not simple or easy.
We are all on the same path. Some of us are just starting out. Others are further down the road. No matter where we are, being kind, compassionate, and accepting of one another enables us all to grow.
We do not tolerate people being mean, harmful, or rejecting of others. We do not judge or look down on people.
Although there are forces that tend to disempower and create division, we stand together as we compassionately care for and champion one another. We see our differences as a strength. We are united in our shared goal of creating a place where all can find acceptance and be welcomed to a home where we all belong.
Our Goal: We are living in a world with an immense love deficit, which means that none of us is receiving the love we need to reach our true potential, to truly thrive. Our goal is to build a support system, a web, that can hold every member of our world. We believe that we can fill that love-gap for every person in the world, either because they are an active member of our community or because they are touched personally by someone who has been empowered by 7 Cups of Tea. We will reach this goal when we provide 100 million positive and supportive conversations each and every week.
Translating this thread to nerds:
f (x) is your capacity.
"and" is your goal.
Happiness it's keep the "and" more low possible and same time increase your f (x) from x to x
I grew up without a father. And all I have is my mom. Me and her are very close. She smokes a lot of cigarettes and I fear she will get sick, and I will have no one. Ive experienced a lot of trauma in my life and I dont think Ill ever find a boyfriend or someone to love me the way I need to be loved. ;(
@yellowbear That sucks, I'm sorry. I had a dad, but he was a very negative presence throughout my life, so he was never really 'there' either. I hope your mom quits smoking, that's a rough habit for sure. And I wouldn't be so hopeless about finding the love you need. :) There's always someone out there who's so ready to give it, you just have to be willing to find them. That's my belief!
I'm really sad, depressed & lonely, my life is a mess, I've been separated for 4 years now & we're finally gonna get divorced, I feel like crying, my life is so meaningless I'm so alone!! I feel I have no future!!!

Hi Glenn,
Prior to reading your core values & mission, I was already impressed with 7 Cups of Tea. That being said , I recently replied to a flex job post for a Customer Success Manager and now my hopeful excitment has reached new levels after reading yourCore Values & Mission.
I can relate to many of the the goals in the mission statement and believe in the core values from top to bottom. As I navigate my way through a world of many pressures it is so refreshing and comforting to realize that people like you have dedicated your efforts to this endeeavor.
Hoping I have the opportunity to continue this discussion with you.
My best,
Jay D.

"We understand that people are complicated and that life is not simple or easy." <-- This, so much. The human experience cannot be distilled into childishly designed compartments. People ARE complicated. Life is NOT simple. However, there are patterns for growth that work for all of us. Those that have discovered them need to share or they are lost to time.
@GlenMI am so thrilled that I ran across 7cups. The world we live in is so full of hate. It is so nice to find a place for love, non-judgment, and acceptance. My daughter suffers from depression, anxiety, and suicidal tendencies. The way people judge her and treat her really breaks my heart. She has been in therapy for years now and has made major progress. Even with the progress she has made, she is still called hateful names and judged daily. She is not only her issues. She is also a beautiful, smart, loving young lady.
