Feel lost
Hey everyone I just joined yesterday I am dealing with severe depression and I feel lost. Friends don't seem to care and family doesn't understand. I love to write and that, along with walking, are the only thing I seem to enjoy doing, I was a gamer but I don't feel like playing anything. I am just looking to chat with other writers and gamers that are depressed and perhaps we can pull each other out of the hole.
I get you my guy,I'm 14 and have had depression for 3 years now I just keep a smile on so no one worries and I admit I vape to relax and release tension
@kivesh
I do the same exact thing. I've 14 rn and i've dealing with depression since I was 8-9yo.
@Beautifulfallenangel01 Hopefully today was a good day. Take care always.
@wjglory i totally get your situation. I recently just moved hours away from my hometown to go to college and I’m the loniest I’ve ever been. I lost all my friends after graduation for some reason and have literally made 0 friends being in college 2 months now. While I get to watch everyone else around me have a good time. And to my family I’m dramatic and don’t have real problems. So I am just going day by day trying to cope with loneliness. I hope you’re doing okay and I’m always here if you need to talk : )
@Sulsulsims Thank you for your kind words I am trying to not compare myself to others but its difficult when its shoved down your throat. One thing I love about this site is that I see that I am not alone and the people here get us, they know what we go through and don't give the cliched answers of "leveling up" or "tomorrow is a new day" and other stuff they repeat off the internet. One thing I am doing is my writing and I make it a point to write every single night before bed. Its an accomplishement for me to be able to write.
@wjglory I agree from what I’ve seen here it’s better to talk to people actually who are going through the same thing and not someone who has maybe never even experienced depression trying to solve a problem they don’t even know how to tackle. Saying it’s okay things will get better is annoying in a sense because yeah things might get better but to be so stuck in your head you can’t possibly see it getting better is hard to escape. And writing is so good I enjoy writing as well that’s why I’m an English major 😂😂
@Sulsulsims An English major? That is fantastic! I've loved writing since high school my English teacher is what got me inspired to writing.
@wjglory yess I’m very much enjoying it I had a 2000 word essay due the other night and i wrote it in like an hour in a half😂 I love writing I might try screen writing one day too. My high school teachers as well sparked my interest in writing and made me see my abilities
@Sulsulsims That is amazing screenwriting is fun I have two published. And congrats on getting that 2000 word essay done so quickly! Wonderful job!
@wjglory where do you publish your works I would love to take a look. And thank you! I appreciate it more than you know
@wjglory hi wig nice to meet you welcome to 7 cups. Depression in general can be very challenging I suffer with it though and I'm a listener. If you ever need any help talking things out bouncing questions off. I can help you. I take medication for my depression because if I don't it's something that takes over my life. So I'm here for you and we could be here for each other just let me know what I can do for you. I used to play video games when they made consoles that I could use with my disabled hands but I like to write too so you're in good company
@DonaldK Nice to meet you writing is my therapy and it helps. I am just working on getting my third book published.
I know exactly how you feel as far as gaming and writing go. I just try to challenge myself to play something new or something I never finished when gaming, but I also have some comfort games that I love playing whenever. I've actually started finishing games finally by doing this. I had trouble finding something to get into for awhile there after Final Fantasy 16 last year
As far as writing, I haven't written anything in years. It's something I miss. It's hard to come up with anything when I'm too nihilistic or too apathetic
@wjglory
Hi there! I am inspired by you! Writing daily would be a good idea to keep the track of my days. Thank you for your sharing and I wish you all the best!
@Wallis Thank you Wallis writing helps me keep my mind focused and distracted by the depression. I make it a point to not only write in my book but the journal on 7 Cups. I hope your day goes well and that you are doing well.
Cool looking forward to read your sharings!
