Confused and Tired

Hi. I’m new to this, obviously, or I wouldn’t be under this thread, and I’m not too sure if I’m doing this right (as far as using this app). Please help me navigate. Oh and idk if I should include tw or stuff??

Anyways, a general summary of what’s been bothering me lately and what I need to fix about myself: I’m 21 btw

  • Last night I found out my dad and stepmom are filing for divorce. This sucks for a lot of reasons but the main are when I’ll be able to see my little sister again and where I’m going to live; along with all of the moving and emotions
  • I’m pretty sure I’ve got a bit of an addiction problem
  • I’m gay but haven’t come out yet
  • I’ve got only one friend and I haven’t been that good of a friend in return bc we haven’t spoken in like 6 months
  • Not motivated for anything despite knowing how important it is I do those things: i.e. probs dropping out of college and can’t get myself to work
  • Horrible anxiety
  • Never been in a relationship :( lowkey don’t believe in romantic love
  • Neglectful of my health
  • Broke as a joke
  • Still living w parents bc can’t afford to live on my own (don’t worry, I’m ashamed of this)

Basically, I’m a homebody too scared of the world to do anything, which in-turn causes more problems. I don’t know how to fix myself but I can’t afford a therapist anymore. I appreciate anyone who’s read this far <3 At this point, I’m just accepting the mess of a life I’ve created for myself.

Hi MangoSlugs11,

Welcome to the forum! You're doing just fine, and I'm here to help you navigate and offer some support.

It sounds like you're dealing with a lot of challenges and emotions right now. Remember, you're not alone in feeling confused and tired. Taking the step to reach out is already a courageous move.

While I'm not a replacement for professional help, I can offer some general suggestions that might help you start addressing some of these issues:

1. **Break Things Down:** It can be overwhelming to tackle everything at once. Start by addressing one challenge at a time.

2. **Reach Out for Support:** Even if you can't afford a therapist right now, consider confiding in a trusted friend or family member about what you're going through. Sharing your feelings can lighten the load.

3. **Self-Care:** Taking care of your physical and mental health is important. Start with small, manageable steps like getting enough sleep, eating well, and engaging in activities you enjoy.

4. **Online Resources:** There are many online resources, articles, and forums that provide guidance on different challenges you're facing. They can provide some insights and coping strategies.

5. **Community Support:** Engaging in forums like this can provide a sense of connection and support. You can find others who have gone through similar situations and learn from their experiences.

6. **Setting Goals:** Break down your goals into small, achievable steps. Celebrate each accomplishment along the way.

Remember, it's okay to ask for help and take things one step at a time. You have the strength within you to work towards a better place. Take care of yourself, and don't hesitate to seek guidance and support when you need it.

Sending you positive vibes,

Jack

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling overwhelmed and going through so much. It's completely understandable to feel lost and uncertain in these circumstances. It might be helpful to consider reaching out to free or low-cost mental health resources in your area, such as community clinics or helplines. They may be able to provide guidance and support tailored to your specific needs. Additionally, look for LGBTQ+ support organizations or online communities where you can find a safe space to connect with others who may be experiencing similar challenges. Remember, you deserve support and a chance to improve your life. Keep reaching out for help, and believe that there is hope for a brighter future
