Burnout

combatlist November 12th

Hey everyone,

Anyone know what it feels like to be exhausted of everyone and everything, feeling so unmotivated towards things that you would love? I'm gonna be honest I try to consistently get atleast 6-7 hrs of sleep and yet I feel so exhausted of everything. One day I'm getting so much work done and the next it's barely a fraction. Life just feels so so dull and inconsistent. Does it continue this way or does it get better over time?

@combatlist hi sweetie welcome to 7 cups ❤ it sounds like you could do with a break from everything, perhaps a weekend away in the countryside, to just relax might be a great idea. When the world gets you down, self care is important ❤ gives you a giant tiny hug ❤❤ I hope everything starts looking better for you soon ❤

@combatlistit gets better with self care.

Hey

I feel like this everyday, one day I'm all good and happy then the next I just feel all exhausted and down. I've done so many things that "might" help but none seem to help.

It continues unless you get help immediately, the same thing happens to me even now...... When ever I am stressed or struggling to do something I get sleepy.... And it's starting to be annoying because my family doesn't want to help me solve it

@combatlist For me it has ups and downs. I wish I could say it just gets better over time and then you're cured, but I have experienced it more as a roller-coaster. However, once I came to understand the nature of it more I became less afraid of it and able to roll with it. Accepting these episodes as inevitable gave me the peace to prioritize caring for myself in those tough times and to wait patiently for the joy to come again.

I agree with Drew. as the saying goes: "this, too, shall pass." Ups and downs is something that I experience a lot, and the trickiest part for me is that the downs sneak up on me when I feel I am on a good streak, and I can do more, achieve more. And then.. Bam! I wake up and I can barely go through the motions. This is very discouraging, but what helps is keeping in mind that next day, or the day after that you will be able to get more done, have a little more energy for things. Be gentle with yourself, allow time to feel the way you feel, take small steps to feel better, even the tiniest bit better. A nice bath, a warm drink, a phone call that brings some comfort, a book you enjoy, something that lets you recharge. Good job on working on your sleep patterns, it is an important act of self-care.  Hugs.

@combatlist I can relate with the overthinking and how that can make you feel like you are constantly running a silent marathon of thoughts. It is natural to feel a bit tired because of that. Have you tried journalling or speaking to a counsellor to help pinpoint the main themes and triggers? This way you can work on the distress tolerance which effectively can distract you from worrying and allow more time and energy on resolutions.

Not really, I haven't journaled or spoken with anyone about this as I don't like writing down my thoughts

Try taking some tonic to boost your energy and yes its very normal, today was a day i woke up and thought, I dont want to live today but i have exams, kids, work to day and its my damn day off. So keep do a lil stretch like yoga or lay in bed and use your will to live and the feeling will overcome.

@combatlist - hey there! I have been there and sometimes return there, but can say with confidence, for me that it has gotten better. Keep moving forward and have grace towards yourself. Be kind to yourself. It is OKAY. Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to start again. That is what my husband used to say (he passed away suddenly in 2021 but every time I struggle I remember his words). I have learned, and still continue to do so, to be kind to myself. To give myself grace. And to continue looking for inspiration - for things that motivate me. And I have also learned, because I went through the same earlier this year, that if you find yourself sleeping more or tired when you wake up and need more sleep, that is because your body is telling you that and it is okay. It just means that it is still tired from everything and needs more time to repair. I hope this post sends you good vibes and helps even in a small way. Keep moving forward, one small step at a time. Those are the steps that help!

Sorry to hear about your loss, your husband seemed like a really optimistic person, but thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!

@lista de combate

Estou me sentindo exatamente dessa forma. Me sinto desanimado ao acordar e imaginar como será o meu dia. Não consigo socializar , acho tudo muito chato e exaustivo :/
