What is trauma to you?

Is neglect considered trauma? What about physically and verbally abusive peers? How about a series of circumstances that lead one to not only to just give up on what they want, but to no longer desire anything, except for it to all be over with already? I highly doubt anyone actually cares, but if anyone would be interested enough to pretend to care, like so many other then I can post more details.
