Falling to Darkness

NYX666 November 11th, 2019

She was once a girl. Sweet, loving, and filled with life.

She was innocent, naive, with not a care in the world.

Her whole world was a wonderland, and it revolved around one being.

Her guardian angel, the first she thought of when she woke,

and the last before falling asleep.

Every step she took, was fixed around her beacon.

Her world, her sun, moon, and stars.

She could not imagine how anything could exist without it.

But then came the rude awakening.

Her angel was revealed to be the devil.

The master of deception himself.

A wolf in sheeps clothing.

As he shed his angel skin and rose high in a cloud of darkness,

her little crystal heart was ripped from her fragile chest

and crushed to sparkling dust that faded to darkness.

Horrified she stood there. Unable to move,

as her wonderland started to crumble.

So fast everything around her shattered like glass.

Her soul slowly being sucked from her weak body,

leaving nothing but an empty shell.

She was now alone and cold, surrounded by a black void.

Darkness started creeping up all around her.

Crawling up her dying skin, slowly entering her veins.

The shell that once held warmth and light,

was now being consumed by cold darkness.

Before long black ooze was seeping from her once bright eyes.

At first, the feeling of icy darkness filling her body was painful.

But as it devoured her completely, they became one.

Anger and hatred started brewing inside, and after a while,

that was all she was.

@NYX666 This poem is as beautiful as it is upsetting. Seems like people shouldn't have to feel this way, but we're here for you when you do. Hope you had a better day today, Nyx <3
