I was terrified of him but I couldnt tell anyone. Every night I cried a lot and thats what kept me alive. Today Im finally out of my parents house and I made it my personal mission to help others who are still suffering. Im still in therapy reliving the many traumas that Ive been through. At times its really difficult. Im doing it in order to become a better person. None of my close friends can relate. They never had any trauma! Im hoping to connect with more people who can relate to my story and hopefully we can together grow from our challenges.

I'd love to grow with you sweets, I apologize you had such a tough time so young. It really puts you off balance and takes away your balance in the world. You aren't alone, thank you for sharing and for remaining so strong heart

My dad decided when I was young that he didn't like me and he decided to remind me every single day of my life.

If I needed money for something I would hear "You are the reason I cannot afford the expensive things I deserve"

If I had a bad day and came home crying I would hear "I don't tolerate crying in this house. Stop whining"

He would ground me for extremely long periods of time (Groundings = no phones, no computers, no friends, no going out) for silly reasons like one time I drove into the garage in my car and my seatbelt was twisted.

We would go days without seeing each other or talking and he would come up to me at home and say something like "You are the combination of every bad gene between your mother and myself" and then walk away.

Learning that I'm not a burden and that maybe I'm loveable has been a long, hard journey.

@joditalks sorry to hear that yes some people have no idea how to love their children unfortunately and we were one of the lucky kids who had to learn it the hard way!
