why does a person feel afraid when asked if they're okay?
every time someone asks me if I'm okay I fear the words
I think it comes from being asked if I'm okay and then basically being yelled at for saying what I feel
maybe that's why all my friends see me ask if I'm okay and I lie
I can only ever tell my girlfriend and I don't know why

If you were dismissed when you spoke up...
or perhaps you feel a lot you say "Okay" because it is easier then letting it all spill out. most people do lie when asked questions like "are you Ok" or "how was your day etc" ....
@alexlemon I'm sorry you are going through this and hope that you will be okay soon. When someone asks how you are doing, it's okay to tell them how you really feel and if you can't say that to them, try writing down how you are feeling and give them that and then they can help you.
