Otherwise lets just jump right in to our main check-in question so we can get started with our story for the week!

Okay now that thats out of the way get cozy, and comfy everyone because we will be starting the story time shortly!
Quick Little Disclaimer: For today only our story is not edited because neither myself or @MonBon thought it was necessary to do so because we noticed no graphic content. So if you feel like its not worth the risk please answer the Main Check-in Question listed above ⬆️, and then click off here for your own mental health. Otherwise feel free to carry on with todays check-in! 😁…
Also many thanks to both Joan for putting her story out there, and to the National Domestic Violence Hotline for posting stories like hers on their blog that is connected to their website to inspire people every single day! They are an incredible resource so if you guys ever want or need to know any information or advice regarding domestic abuse I recommend going to their website which I connected their link to their name right up there! ↗️...
Now without further ado here is Joans Story!
My story begins when I was 21 years old. I met a guy that seemed to be a good man. He was very friendly, which for me was the most important thing to have in a relationship.
We met in September and by the following January, we were living together. The abuse began immediately, he became very jealous and accused me of cheating on him with another man. I did not understand why he was treating me that way.
By the end of the month, I was pregnant and my baby was born in late October. I thought that my being pregnant would change him, but that was not the case, everything remained the same. The abuse continued. Every time he hit me, I would leave and go to my sisters or my mothers house.
I left him many times, but I always returned to be by his side.
Then one night in October, shortly after my daughter was born, he became very violent and kicked the crib. Fortunately, the baby was not in the crib. At that moment I began thinking: What would have happened if my baby had been in the crib? I became so scared. That was when I made my final decision to leave him. I left so that he could not continue to hurt me or begin to hurt my daughter. I did not want her to live in a violent home and suffer the consequences.
When I made my decision, my family was very understanding. They helped me by giving me support.
I left him, but this time it was forever. Now my daughter is 13 years old and I no longer have any contact with her father.
Now to finish up this check-in I have a couple of questions for you guys...
#1. What was your favorite part of this story?
And #2. How do you feel after reading this story?
Thank you so much everyone for reading this story, participating in this check-in, and taking a chance on me! I will hopefully see you guys next week!!!

I feel good today. Getting out early & going jogging is really helping me! It helps with purpose.
The story helped me see that people do go back to abusive relationships for many reasons. It's something I struggled with. My Dad went back to his abusive relationship many times & I never understood it. He was putting me in danger & I took it personally. Knowing that he isn't the only one definitely helps me.
It's great to hear that this lady left her abusive partner as well.
@crimsonTalker6672
Hi Crimson I dont believe I have met you before so welcome to my check-in! My name is Arianna, and it is very nice to meet you!!! 💗💗💗...
#1. Im glad youre feeling good today exercise sounds like its really helping you with that, and it also sounds like its helping you keep a purpose which is fantastic as well!!! I am super duper proud of you, and I hope youre proud of yourself as well! Keep up the good work!!! 😁👍🏼👏🏼🎉...
#2. Im glad this story brought you some comfort, and maybe a little glimpse into your fathers world for even just a second? Unfortunately things such as manipulation can make leaving so hard for victims, and will often make survivors go back to their horrible situations as well. I know that can be a hard concept for a little kid to grasp, and that probably contributed to you taking his decisions personally, and no Im not undermining the fact that yes at the time you probably were being put in very potentially dangerous situations which is scary, and can definitely be frustrating I mean if I was in a situation like that Id probably be very frustrated as well, in fact I know I would be! However I hope after reading this story you might understand your father a little better now, and I hope in the present day he is doing well. 💗 (Please send him our best from the whole Trauma Sub-Community, and also please tell him that we are all here at either of these web addresses *Main Website: https://www.7cups.com/* *Our Direct Link: https://www.7cups.com/home/trauma/* if he happens to need anything at all! 💗)... Same goes for you by the way! 😁💗...
#3. Yeah it really is fantastic when a victim can leave, and turn into a survivor! Its almost like watching a tiny caterpillar 🐛 turn into a beautiful butterfly 🦋! 😁...
If I havent said so before thank you so much for checking in, and I hope I see you next week! 😁...
Sending lots of hugs & good vibes,
- @AriannaPink
good morning. I am okay here so far. I have been really busy and overwhelmed due to starting with a psychiatrist, a mental health crisis team and a therapist. It is a lot of new people in my life all at once not to mention the crazy schedule change and the need to push past my comfort zone to get out and go see these people. I am hoping that they will all be understanding of the idea of baby steps...if not I fear it may be too much.
I hope everyone is well today.
@TeenyTinyAppy
Hi Appy its good to see you again! Wow sounds like theres some big changes in your life which can definitely be scary but I hope you start feeling better as you slowly transition! Im super proud of you for making the first step in getting mental health care, and hey baby steps are certainly okay I promise just go at your own rate theres no reason to rush anything 🙂...
Thank you so much for checking in, and I wish you the best of luck in your mental health care journey! 💗...
Sending lots of hugs & good vibes,

@AriannaPink Hi Arianna, so happy to see another great check-in from you!
This story was amazing. My favorite part was when she had her baby and realized that she had to leave and now her daughter is all grown up and they are safe from her father.
I felt comfort in reading this story, as I felt like Joan had a lot of support from her family and had a lovely daughter she got to keep with her. She knew her situationwas bad, and she wanted the best for her and her child and that makes me so incredibly happy to see.
@SparklingSnowflake15
Hi Juliette its good to see you again! Thank you I am so glad that you like my check-ins, and keep coming back for more! 😁...
#1. I am so glad you liked this weeks story! That is an amazing part of the story to choose from it is incredible how she realized how terrible her situation was before the baby could get hurt, and how she ultimately saved them, and is now raising her 13 year old daughter on her own thats tremendous!
#2. Im glad you felt comfort while reading the story. I agree it does sound like Joan did have a lot of support from her family which that honestly helps a victim gain the confidence to leave, and shes so lucky to have had so much support cause not every victim has that. I agree Im glad as well that she noticed her situation was bad because it ultimately saved her, and her wonderful daughter. Im glad you noticed that, and Im glad that the story made you feel happy. Thank you for your input Juliette!!! 💗💗💗...
Thank you so much for checking in Juliette!!! 😁😁😁💗💗💗...
