In December 1948 the UN declared the basic rights and universal freedoms, known as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Today, we want to celebrate stories of people who fought for their and our rights and be grateful for their wins while not forgetting that the fight for freedom and equality isn't over.
So, if you want to, revisit the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and share a story with us in which you've stood up for your own rights. I'm sure that a lot of people in this community have had their own fights for their freedom and equal chances in life so let's celebrate our wins together.

@audienta we have definitely came along way in all this, and we have a lot to be thankful for ❤ but article 4 and 5 theese ones I've grew up with 🙁 and are definitely still a huge problem in this world. I don't want to say to much here but cults, sex slaves, torture is definitely not something that's been completely dealt with yet😥 I pray oneday it will end for all those affected😥 I feel safe and happy where I live now🙂 here at the carehome were I'm protected ❤ and if the whole world were like 7 cups then we would definitely have a better world ❤❤

I'm so sorry. I totally understand that you find it difficult to live in a world in which you've survived things like that. There's definitely not enough awareness around that, as an example, slavery still exists; just because you don't see it every day anymore. I agree that 7 Cups would be mostly a really nice place to live in.
@audienta yep! It's one of those things they are good at hiding from the public eye 😥 I have spoken to a handful of people here at cups, who have been through similar things to me. But even here some of them are still to afraid to speak up about it🙁

) Which place gives you a feeling of safety and calm? I am still searching for that place, unfortunately I never relax or let my guard down even in my own home. Trauma responses.
2) How do you think trauma has influenced the way you are aware of people's rights and freedoms? We don't adhere to the Gettysburg Address nor Martin Luther King's speech where man will not be judged by the color of his skin. We in America are very judgemental of one another, and that is sad, All people should be entitled to equal and fair treatment.
3) What do you think helps to make a space safe and welcoming for everyone? When people can come together in a like mind and allow people to be who they are and not judge them by our standards as to what and who they should be. We tend to treat our animals better than we do one another.
