Hi all...my first time here...I have been reading a lot lately and watching videos about Betrayal Trauma...my husband had a 4 year affair and he's an addict. I realize now that I am in need of recovery as much as he is. I am a mess emotionally and mentally. Anyone else going through the triggers and obsessive thoughts?

Hi there, welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear about what you've been going through with your husband's affair and addiction. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and share your experiences with others, and I commend you for taking that step.

It's completely understandable that you're feeling emotionally and mentally overwhelmed right now. Betrayal trauma can be incredibly painful and leave lasting scars. You're not alone in experiencing triggers and obsessive thoughts. Many others in this group have likely gone through similar experiences and can offer you support and understanding.

I encourage you to take some time for self-care and seek out resources for recovery. Have you considered talking to a therapist or joining a support group for partners of addicts? These can be helpful tools for navigating the difficult journey of healing and moving forward. Remember, healing is a process and it takes time. You deserve to prioritize your own well-being and seek out the help and support you need ❤️
