First night as a 911 operator

And I’m getting really rough calls . How am I going to do this.

Being an operator is such a huge responsibility but you are definitely doing something extremely admirable. For most jobs it'll get easier as you go on as you find a routine and things become more and more second hand. Wishing the best of luck!

I would get it ago.

Try it for a bit, and see what happens.

Talk to your supervisor, and ask them how do you handle rough calls.

Your supervisor, might be a better person to ask.

911 Dispatch definitely takes a special kind of person! I encourage you set firm boundaries to protect yourself. Do your best to focus on the task at hand and try not to absorb every story. This type of job will take its toll on you, so try to take steps to take care of your own wellness.
