-Its not your fault, you were a victim

-telling someone you trust is a powerful step in the healing journey

-childhood sexual abuse is definitely life altering but does not have to define you or your hopes and dreams for the life you want

-take care of yourself and set boundaries for what is best for you

All of this is so very eloquently put! It’s so important that those who have gone through childhood trauma know they can trust the person they are allowing themselves to be vulnerable with. I also love the part about it not defining you and self-care and boundaries are vital as often childhood trauma is associated with a lack of healthy boundaries in later years. Thank you for sharing!

Supporting those who have endured childhood trauma is so important and a topic close to my heart. I think those who have gone through this very traumatic experience need to know that it wasn’t their fault and they are safe now, in this moment.

Thank you for raising awareness for a topic that is very difficult to introduce and discuss. As always you encourage us to be reflective and often make us look within which I love about your posts Ami!

@LisaMeighanMScGMBPsS

Nice to see you in the forum today and thanks for your answer and kind words, Lisa. I believe it's hard to childhood trauma survivors to believe that they are safe now, even as adults, they might have to learn this and tell themselves "I am safe now" over and over again.

It's nice to see you too Ami! :) Very true, often that reminder that they are safe now can help adults who have experienced childhood trauma feel reassured.

@amiablePeace77i

Hi, Ami,

I would tell a survivor that it is completely ok to block family members who have abused you and continue to abuse you.  You have to save yourself.
