National Recycling Day is November 15.
Name at least 5 things you recycle ♻️.
1. Egg shells i plant seeds in them.
2. Plastic gallon jugs i turn it into a greenhouse
3. Used Coffee grounds
4. Glass jars
5. Veggie scraps! Into my compost jar!
Do you sort your recyclables? Or just toss them in a bin?
Most of our recycleables all go into 1 bag, unfortunately bags are required for pickup. We pay a bottle deposit though so all beverage containers get taken to a depot every few months so we can get that money back or sometimes given to neighbourhood kids for a fundraiser. We also have a compost bin. I've considered doing some home composting but haven't jumped into it yet.
1. Food scraps. I have a compost bin. So, any food scraps (that can be compost ) will be in that bin!
2. Takeaway plastic containers. They will be reused around the house or when we give away food.
3. Glass jars. I love glass jars!! Those will be used for my pickled vegetables, kefir, and other homemade stuff.
4. Plastic bags. I usually bring foldable bags but when I forgot to bring any, those plastic bags will be recycled into plastic fabric (can be used for crafting, etc.) and rubbish bags.
5. Cardboards, egg cartons, paper rolls, tissue boxes, etc. I'll make crafts and diy paper with them.
And I have a recycle bin too. So, I'll usually sort what I can recycle (if I can't reuse them) before throwing those non-recycle waste.
