Help?
hi! i haven’t posted on here before but i genuinely need help and felt like talking to real people for this one.
life has been absolutely horrific recently. i js came off a few months of great recovery and full of good moments, and i’m being hit with a huge wave of depression again.
i dont feel like doing anything anymore, my sleep schedule is all messed up again, i find myself constantly crying and/or shaking as i beg myself to not give in to my old habits, and overall js feeling terrible about myself.
does anyone have any tips they can offer me? i wanna get back to that high point as fast as i can.
have a good day lovelies, thanks for reading<33
(also, not sure if this goes against forum guidelines or not. if it is, please let me know so i can get it taken down, tysm!)
@reeseisgreat Hey there,
Sounds like you're going through a really tough time. It's normal to feel overwhelmed & like you're taking steps backwards. Remember, progress isn’t always linear. You've already shown incredible strength by overcoming a difficult period before, and you can do it again.
It's okay to not be okay. You don't have to fight this alone. Sharing your feelings here is a huge step, and you're not alone in how you're feeling.
Here are some things that might help:
- Reach out: Talk to friends, family, share here on 7 cups or a professional. Sharing your feelings can provide relief and support.
- Practice self-care: Prioritize sleep, healthy eating, and physical activity. Even small steps can make a big difference.
- Challenge negative thoughts: When you're feeling down, it's easy to focus on the negative. Try to identify these thoughts and challenge their validity.
- Set small goals: Break down overwhelming tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
- Be patient with yourself: Recovery takes time. Celebrate small victories and don't be too hard on yourself.
Remember, this is a temporary phase. You're strong, and you will get through this. We're here for you.
@reeseisgreat hi sweetie ❤depression is a horrible thing to learn to live alongside🙁 I'm sorry your struggling right now, depression thinks it can take control whenever it wants to. When your feeling down, always reach out to someone, irl or here at cups,we are all here for you ❤ take this time to be kind to yourself, try set little goals, do little things that make you smile. Perhaps a gratitude journal. And just know good days will return soon ❤ gives you a giant tiny hug ❤ everything will be ok ❤
@reeseisgreat
take your time...everyone has their low points thats just human nature rgt? now to get back you from that low point is the challenge. having dicipline is the key i would say...even then just dont force it.
personally i think you should let go...build a routine that you can do...and meditate.
meditation works wonders.it helps you to build a deep connection with yourself. and the end of the day bro just treat yourself with love. sometimes you can love anyone and anything ecept yourself...but why is that? only you can answer that rgt? for that you need to understand yourself, forgive yourself and move on from you past mistakes.
I feel the same way hun I don’t know you but I definitely feel you
@reeseisgreat honestly I'm also going through this so you know you're not the only one in a mess, many others are there and we have to be strong together
@reeseisgreat
I am so glad you reach out reeseisgreat! Depression is a very heavy thing!
You've been given already some great information by others, but I just like to add 2 points.
Many people benefit from moving the body. Moderate intensity exercises are a great way to encourage the body to produce feel good hormones, like running, aerobic, fast walking but even gardening for as little as 20 min. can be very helpful.
