Words of Wisdom
Hi Online Therapy Sub-Community :)
I hope you are well. Often we get helpful words from others or perhaps a quote that has inspired us or helped us in some way. They really can be very uplifting!
If you feel comfortable to do so, can you share with something that has helped you?
For me, I find the following really uplifting and useful:
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” – Lao Tzu
I like this one because it helps you to see that the journey isn't always easy or something you can reach quickly but you will eventually get there.
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Gandhi
With so many difficulties happening across the globe it can make a huge difference to look at the things you can control and not react with the same behaviour. So whilst we cannot influence the world on a broader scale usually, we can make small differences to make the world a better place.

This is a quote I've carried with me for a long time.
“Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it,” Churchill
We things are not going your way it may be the best learning experience ever.
@Kickan75
Wow, that is powerful. I've actually not heard it before. Thank you for sharing!
Keep them coming. They are so motivating for us to all read and reflect on. :)
I like to collect quotes in particular and words in general, that resonate with, or inspire me. Here are my faves
"You don’t have to be liked by everybody. You don’t even like everybody."
'Listen, that move you are scared to make, might be the game changer.'
'There is a past version of you that is so proud of how far you have come.'
@purpleBalloon9883
Great idea to collect inspiring quotes! Thank you for sharing, I do like them all.
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
― The Alchemist
I personally feel drawn to the quote above.It really uplifts me to think that Universe do listen and make things happen as per our wish so I should be careful to keep my thoughts positive and constructive.

Having faith can change a lot in life. Great quote!
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step".... If I may kinda further that point, with the fact after that first step it's only one foot infront of the other till you reach the finish line.
@DIDisaythat
Very encouraging quote, thanks for sharing!

After 13 years in a relationship with an emotionally abusive woman who loved to gaslight and dump me with texts over and over, I have finally accepted that she is not a good person and is not right for me. Just the other day, I built up the courage to tell her to leave me alone. I saw this on Twitter the same day:
"It isn't necessarily a moment that counts so much. It's the journey. Try to love your past, present, and future."
That was a huge help to me... Thought I would share. 😊
@StormLynx great quote thanks for sharing it.
Good luck on your new adventure.
If you can tune into your purpose and really align with it, setting goals so that your vision is an expression of that purpose, then life flows much more easily
- Jack Canfield
Don’t say, ‘If I could, I would.’ Say, ‘If I can, I will.’”
- Jim rhon
Get your ideas on paper and study them. Do not let them go to waste!"
- Les brown
Goal is to get all there books.
@Simpleman123
Thank you for sharing Simpleman123. I particularly like the one from Jim rhon "If I can I will"
The man who moves a mountain, starts by carrying small stones.
- Confucius
Be content to progress in slow steps until you have legs to run and wings with which to fly
- Pio Petriclina
The first requisite of success is the ability to apply your physical and mental energies to one problem without growing weary.
- Thomas A. Edison
Some of our problems is, when we do too much things at once we get overwhelmed and sometimes discouraged and quit, instead of quiting, break them down into small goals and a list to knock them off one at a time, and if you get tired give your self rest, and get back to it when rejuvenated, but remember to structure things on a deadline schedule so when you do accomplish it, it gives you momentum to keep accomplishing more and more.
checklist gives us a feeling of accomplishments, the more you do the small stuff the easier the larger ones will be. One of the greatest things to also have is wise and accredited counsel, a social worker, a coworker, a case manager and a pastor, we cant do everything alone, so set up your circle team and utilize them in working together. Getter Done.
Pace yourself, life is not a race but a marathon.
@Simpleman123 I am big on checklists and breaking things down into small jobs.
