Random Acts of kindness and impact on others

Hereintime March 5th, 2019

I have thought About posting somthing like this before. So at 3:30am my time. I hear a loud thud and i look outside to find a younger girl on the porch no coat eyes pinned out. I also see a couple people running down the street. i check her out and find that she is barely breathing, eyes pinned out and lips blue. Signs i know well.. i know she is O.D.ing so i go get my narcan and administer it. i watch her chest to make sure she continues to breathe as i call the ambulance. Slowly she comes back around and starts to talk. i come to find out that it was the first time she had ever done any drugs stronger than weed. Her friends had dumped her and ran off. At this point she is embarassed that random person saved her and at the same time worried that somthing else bad would happen to her. i calmed her down and gave he my coat to keep her warm hile we ait of the ambulance to arrive. The point of telling you this (and i dont condone administering any med we are not doctors). is that anyone can be a hero anyone can help somone in need. We get kicked down as drug users being told that we are trash etc. At 3:30 this morning I may be another addict but i was the saving grace for one young woman that ws in too deep and needed help. a hour later the ambuance showed up and took her to the hospital. Even if she doesnt remember my name or if i never see her again I know that i was the only reason that she will live to see another day. Even though we hve damage abnd we have our addictions and issues does not mean we can not help somebody in need. To help somone with out the stigma that follows us Makes us 100% better than those that overlook us or talk down to us.

ONE ACT OF KINDNESS CAN SAVE A LIFE OR HELP SOMONE TAKE THE FIRST STEP TOWARD RECOVERY!

She was incredibly fortunate that you were there and had narcan available. I can imagine how terrified she must have been, and unfortunately, know people similar to her "friends". I'm glad that they ended up leaving her near you where you were able to help and call paramedics.
