Hopeless
I just got out of rehab this past summer for alcohol. I relapsed not even a week of being out. I’m on the med Naltrexone but in my opinion it doesn’t stop the cravings … it’s just just made me slow down on how much I drink….. I really want to quit so I don’t end up like my mother .

Hi there.
I hear you. You want to quit, have put effort into quitting, and are likely really disappointed that you have relapsed. That's very understandable.
Can I propose some positives here? You want to quit. This means that you have realised the need for change. You perhaps don't realise yet what a huge first step this is. Because it is huge. Have you congratulated yourself for taking this step?
You have slowed down in drinking. Every drink that you haven't drunk, is a drink you haven't drunk, and thus a success.
The next is that you have come here to share. That takes courage and determination. I believe quitting is more successful when you have social support and you have done something towards that. You are working hard towards your goal.
And, well, my experience is that it is normal to take multiple attempts to quit. So hopefully you can eventually look back on this as just one of those attempts that led to your final quit.
Because I believe you will finally quit. You have great motivation. When you are ready, just try again.
Best wishes
