Check-In: Shifting Perspectives & Growth in Recovery

...See more Check-In: Shifting Perspectives & Growth in Recovery Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing well today. 💕💪🏻Recovery is a journey of change—not just in our actions but in the way we see ourselves, addiction, and life as a whole. What we once believed to be true about addiction or recovery often shifts as we gain experience, learn, and grow.🌱 Many of us start out thinking recovery is just about quitting substances, but over time, we realize it’s about so much more. 🌟 It’s about unlearning harmful patterns, facing deep-seated fears, and discovering who we are beyond our addiction. 🌸 True progress isn’t just measured by days sober but by the internal changes we make—the way we handle emotions, navigate challenges, and rebuild our sense of self-worth.🫶🏻 That’s why I want to invite you to reflect today with these questions: 1️⃣What’s something you used to believe about addiction or recovery that you now see differently?  — Maybe you once thought relapse meant failure, but now you see it as part of the learning process. Or maybe you believed you’d never be happy sober, but now you’ve found real joy in a substance-free life. What perspectives have changed for you? 2️⃣ What’s one challenge in your recovery that you’ve been avoiding or struggling to face head-on?  — Recovery isn’t always easy. Sometimes we put off the hard work—whether it’s setting boundaries, dealing with past trauma, or addressing mental health struggles. What’s something you know you need to face, and what’s one small step you can take toward it? 3️⃣ How do you measure progress in your recovery beyond just sobriety?  — Healing isn’t just about counting days. Have you become more self-aware? Learned to cope with emotions in a healthier way? Started rebuilding relationships? What are the personal victories that remind you of how far you’ve come? Take some time to reflect, and if you feel comfortable, share your thoughts. Your insights might help someone else who’s struggling. Remember: Recovery is not about perfection—it’s about progress. You’re doing better than you think, and you’re not alone. Keep going! 💙 Much love, Kayla 💕🫶🏻

Not needing recreational drugs to be cool

...See more "Acid is not that cool (u r tho)" I don't know how I thankfully moved on from these things. I think I realized I wanted more control over my life even though there was a lot I couldn't control. ...Also, they say to surround oneself with good things. I think when I really started trying to put things like honesty and carefulness in my life, there wasn't as much room for that other stuff that wasn't helping. I hope good things and progress for everyone's journey away from terrible addictions. So thankful to feel I have somewhere to post these things and reflect on my past.

...See more A Message of Hope and Strength 🌟 Hello everyone!!! 👋🏻 I’m Kayla, and I’m truly honored to introduce myself to this incredible community. I am also truly honored to be the new Forum Supporter for this community!!!! I’ve been sober for 3 years and 7 months now, and it has been a journey full of ups and downs. But through each challenge, I’ve discovered that recovery is not just about staying clean—it’s about rebuilding yourself, finding your strength, and learning how to embrace life with a clear mind and an open heart. 💪🏻💖 For the past 3 years, I’ve worked in the Recovery Field, and I’m currently blessed to be part of an amazing Recovery Center. I am incredibly passionate about being there for my fellow addicts, helping them reach their goals, and just letting them know that recovery IS possible. 🙌🏻Every day, I witness the power of change, and I believe with all my heart that no matter where you are in your journey, there is always hope. You are never alone in this. 🌈 To anyone here struggling, I want you to know that it gets better. It might not seem like it right now, but with time, support, and a commitment to your own healing, you can find your way out. I stand as proof that recovery is possible, and every small step forward is progress. The road ahead may feel long, but each day you stay sober is a victory. 🏆 Let’s continue supporting each other and sharing our stories because together, we are stronger. I’m here to listen, share, and support anyone who needs it. Let’s lift each other up and remind ourselves that recovery is a gift worth fighting for. 💫 Fun Check-In Before we wrap up, let’s do a quick check-in! ...See more Good morning everyone, Tomorrow is my appearance for a DUI I got back on Feb 17th. I came back to 7cups right after that. I love the support system here and the community. I am afraid because I've never been in trouble with the law before but I have a best friend who will be with me during my hearing. I hope to make it through tomorrow so I can come back and get on 7cups tomorrow :) Have a great Tuesday everyone!! Shannon
