😲i'm living in Asia and English is not my first language

📝and i'm going to prepare for IELTS test, practice speaking and writing in English at summer school every morning (and i stayed up until 2 at midnight cuz i'm a little bit nervous & training GPT3.5 for fun)

😰i'm still not certain of my grammar, vocabulary & spoken English

🤓hope i can speak English aloud more confidently & express myself in English smoothly😺

When learning a language, I suggest that you can watch tv shows in that language. Choose shows that do not use inappropriate language, something more formal. Like about the law, police, or even medical shows. If you have a subtitle option, you'll be able to see the words. If you're able to watch on the computer, you can even pause at each sentence. Repeat it yourself. When English is not a first language, exposure to it as much as possible will help.

I remember when I first learned English, after moving to a country that spoke English, being surrounded by classmates that speak only English, helped me learn quicker. I also took ESL classes for 3.5 years. Watched a lot of educational shows in English, sometimes even reading the newspapers or listening to the radio.

Good luck!~

Hello,@NyanCat2222, glad to see you are from Aisa.

I am from Asia and preparing for IELTs too. It is true and valid that we feel uncertain about our grammar and oral English since English is not our first language.

I have used Cambly APP to improve my spoken English. It is truly helpful to talking to westerners. There are special courses prepared for IELTs. Please distinguish suitable tutors for you.

YouTube is also a important resource to use. Practice speaking English and you can make it!

Good luck! Language learning is a long term process.
