Procrastination?
Hi guys.
Im curious. How you manage to overcome/deal with procrastination? What are your methods? Im struggling with this demon of mine for months... Please share your experiences. Thank you.
@BeneathYouAreBeautiful - Such a good question! I am an extremely organized and detail oriented person, so I like to rely on scheduling. A lot. Like, A LOT. The method I use is here: https://www.educationcorner.com/effective-time-management.html which is essentially scheduling all of your big projects, and then making a weekly schedule as well.
This helps me a lot because it lets me choose to relax, and I know when I should be working on something. So, if I know I've got a big test, I can spread out my studying over one or two weeks. The awesome thing about this is that when I look at my calendar, I go, "okay, so I scheduled myself an hour to study today, from 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. but then the whole rest of my night is free." It really helps me learn about the choices I make in regards to studying vs. doing something fun.
I hope that helps you! It's not for everyone, but it has saved my brain from being fried in both my diploma and now the degree I'm working on. :)

Wow, thank you Becky! I used to track all my habits long time ago, and i eventually stoped. I dont know why and I totally forgot about that. It was so much easier and organized! I will check that link and use my planer again. THANK YOU!
@BeneathYouAreBeautiful - Yay! I actually love planning, so this really works for me. I hope it helps you too. :)
@BeneathYouAreBeautiful
I create a to do list.
I do one thing I don't want to do and then one thing I can do
I have rewards as simple was a piece of candy to complicated like my favorite dinner with a movie.

Hey! I've moved your post over to another subsection of the community where I think it'll fit more nicely. I hope you don't mind, but feel free to PM me if you need <3
To answer your question, what I tend to do is to set a time period of only 5 minutes to do whatever work I need to do. If 5 minutes is too long, go to 3 minutes. Or even 1 minute. Then slowly I build myself up, it could be that same day I'm feeling like I can now do 2 minutes, then 3 minutes. And when you reach the point where time's up but you don't want to stop, it's like you're in the groove already. The hardest part is just getting started <3
