Get Help With Your Homework|Pear Editing

...See more Hello, lovely student support community. This thread is for pear editing. You can post your essay, paragraph, or presentation if you want feedback from another person. ------------------------- Here are the rules: ◎All posts must be 7 Cups appropriate. (Papers with topics like racism, negative thoughts about discrimination, information about other users here on Cups, etc. are prohibited.) ◎Be supportive and kind. ------------------------- Writing process; 1. Choose a topic. Before you start writing, you need to decide exactly what you’ll write about and do the necessary research. What's your purpose for this paragraph or essay? Why this topic? 2. Do the research. • Searching for primary and secondary sources. • Reading the relevant texts closely (e.g., for literary analysis). • Collecting data using relevant research methods (e.g., experiments, interviews, or surveys) • (For argument paragraphs, it's also advised to read opinions from people of the opposite point of view.) 3. Planning and outlining Especially in academic writing, it’s important to use a logical structure to convey information effectively. It’s far better to plan this out in advance than to try to work out your structure once you’ve already begun writing. Click Here if you want a review for structure of essays [https://www.scribbr.com/academic-essay/essay-structure/#:~:text=The%20basics%20of%20essay%20structure.%20There%20are%20two] Structure for paragraphs [https://www.scribbr.com/research-paper/paragraph-structure/#:~:text=The%20number,%20length%20and%20order%20of%20your%20paragraphs] Structure for summarys [https://www.scribbr.com/working-with-sources/how-to-summarize/#:~:text=If%20the%20text%20is%20a%20scientific%20paper%20that] 4. Write the first draft. Once you have a clear idea of your structure, it’s time to produce a full first draft. This process can be quite non-linear. For example, it’s reasonable to begin writing with the main body of the text, saving the introduction for later once you have a clearer idea of the text you’re introducing. To give structure to your writing, use your outline as a framework. Make sure that each paragraph has a clear central focus that relates to your overall argument. 6. Get feedback from peers. Here are some common points to look at while peer editing someone's work: ▪ Grammar. ▪ Punctuation. ▪ Spelling. ▪ Overused expressions. 7. Redrafting, revising, and writing the final draft; Look at the paper critically at your first draft and find potential areas for improvement. Redrafting means substantially adding or removing content, while revising involves making changes to structure and reformulating arguments. 9. Read the writing work before turning it in. ------------------------- @daydreammemories, @iloveyouxx, @enigmaticOcean8813, @hi66666, @Admirablerainbow2825, @TheCrew4887, @farhanR, @farhanR, @PsychPrashansa13.
A Simple Hack for Managing School Anxiety
by Mya000

October 12th
...See more Hey everyone, I wanted to share a small but powerful hack that really helped me that really helped me manage severe school anxiety and school refusal. Each night, I’d write myself a quick note with the next day’s plan—where I needed to go, the times of my classes, any important materials, or reminders about upcoming assignments. Having this small list made me feel more prepared and in control, helping to clear my mind and ease the anxiety I often felt. It’s a simple, discreet routine that doesn’t require anything fancy—just a piece of paper and a pen—but it made a huge difference for me. I could read the note anytime during the day, no matter where I was, which was really reassuring. Just knowing it was always with me gave me a sense of calm. I hope this can help someone else who might be struggling. Take care!

...See more I am taking a break from classes this semester and it’s making me lose motivation to continue. I know I need to complete the FAFSA and talk to my advisor but I only have the energy to work (15-20 hours a week too which feels pathetic). How long does the FAFSA process take? Can I re-enroll for spring or is it too late? Has anyone else taken a gap semester in the middle of their college career? I’m very nervous I thought this break would help and now I’m worried I’ve ruined everything.

World Baking Day - May 17th, 2023

May 17th, 2023
...See more A fun fact about baking, there were evidence that baking existed more than 14,000 years ago! This is a time to spread the joy of baking globally. There are those who love to bake, and others who don't. For myself, baking had always been a stress-reliever. I don't use machines, and do everything by hand. The process of measuring the ingredients, to mixing the batter, pouring it in their respective containers, putting it in the oven, watching it rise, and finally taking it out to cool down. This entire process is soothing for me. I remember there was this one time, where I was really depressed, I ended up making 3 batches of mini-muffins at once! My signature baking good is, Banana Walnut Bread. I have given my mum the recipe before to give to her friends because there was a time where I made 2 loaves and gave some pieces for her friends to try. They loved it and wanted the recipe, but when they tried to bake it themselves, they couldn't get the same results.. heheh. If you're someone who likes to bake, what is your signature baking good(s)? https://happydays365.org/world-baking-day/world-baking-day-may-17/
One Day Without Shoes Day - May 10th, 2023
by Jaeteuk
Last post
May 15th, 2023
...See more From the name of this day, you're probably able to guess what this day celebrates. It's not exactly a celebration, but more of a reminder that there are countries/cities in the world that do not have electricity, medical care, and are in poverty. This day is created and founded by the owner of Toms Shoes, as he visited Argentina in 2006 and saw many children running around without shoes. https://happydays365.org/one-day-without-shoes-day/one-day-without-shoes-day-may-10/ For those people like ourselves, having shoes is like an essential item to life. From the moment we leave our home, we'll be putting shoes on. Aside from the true meaning to this day, there's something else that not wearing shoes reminds me of. There is this thing called "Grounding" or "Earthing". Founded by Clint Ober. He even wrote a book explaining the health benefits of Earthing. Long story short, he explains that the Earth has a magnetic field, and that when our skin (i.e. bare feet), touches the ground (whether that be cement, grass, soil, sand, etc), that magnetic field will then be conducted to our bodies. So, how does it help us health-wise? Based on his research and true stories from those that tried this form of treatment, had obviously had improved their aches and health issues after long-term trial. You can easily find YouTube videos on these stories, families who had a sick child, but after several months of playing outside, barefoot or just laying in the yard, (as long as some part of our skin is touching the ground), that child didn't need to be in-and-out of the hospital as much. There are also videos showing that there are "grounding pads", that you plug into the wall, and the pads are stuck on the bottom of someone's foot while they sleep (or you could simply stand on top of it), that person was able to sleep better. It is also said that grounding will help with pains in the body. To prove the truth in this, my brother had actually bought a grounding pad for my mum. Since menopause, she has had trouble sleeping every night. Always claiming that she couldn't sleep until 2-5am, or that she wakes up multiple times, or she wakes up early and can't go back to sleep. She's been drinking Chamomile Tea, an hour or two before bed, as it claims it's suppose to help with sleep. I think it's a psychological thing though. As she still says that she's unable to sleep that well even when she drank the tea. So, when we received the grounding pad, we let her try it when she slept. Since it's a pad, the size of 2 A4 sized paper placed horizontally, and has a cord attached so it could be plugged into the wall. (You know how wall plugs have the 2 vertical openings and the round one is the grounding opening). The first night, she slept with shorts and had the grounding pad touching her calves. She said, the moment she laid down, her body felt heavy and was sleepy almost instantly. The second night though, she said because she kept on being worried about whether or not her skin is touching the pad all night, that worrying kept her awake. So, on the morning of trying on the second night, she asked my brother to return it. She also said the smell of rubber became really strong in the night, maybe because it's plugged in, and she feels it gets heated a bit, and that made the rubber odour stronger. My brother suggested that he could velcro it down on her bedsheet, so that she won't have to worry about whether or not her skin is constantly touching the pad, but she said she doesn't want it anymore. So now, we do grounding ourselves. At least 30 minutes at a time, we would be barefoot sitting at our front porch. It does takes times to get used to if we decide to walk around, as the type of ground we have are like little rocks engraved into the cement. Although these rocks are smooth surfaced, it still does get a little prickly at times. Even if we do this every day, it will probably take months to see any difference in our bodies. We don't do it every day though. My mum is very cautious with the ground, the other night, after dinner, she said she'll be at the front porch to do some grounding, she came back into the house almost instantly, saying that she saw a bunch of flies hanging around our plants and that there are ants on the ground. Then, says what if those ants crawl on her body, and she comes back into the house and brings them in? So, this grounding exercise it mostly done by my brother, and I'll probably end up doing it once a week. It'd be nice if he kept the ground pad, as we could just plug it into the wall and stand on it easily for at least 30 minutes, or my parents could easily have their feet on it while they watch TV. This made me think, of those people who do yoga on beaches, say they feel more relaxed after meditation, makes me wonder, maybe because they are barefoot in the sand, the grounding effect is also in play. So, aside from all the stretches they do to relax their muscles, the grounding effect also helps them in the same sense. If you're interested in this topic, do search for YouTube videos, either by the founder's name Clint Ober, then you'll see a list of search topics. We watched the Clint Ober Grounding Movie. There was another video that showed a celebrity actress who took Grounding to the next level, as she was seen barefoot arriving at an airport. What are your thoughts on Grounding/Earthing? Are you willing to donate to charities that help those in poverty?
International Nurses Day - May 12th, 2023

...See more Nurses around the world all deserve recognition, not just today, but every day of the year! Especially having gone through with the Pandemic, nurses have played a role just as important as all the other healthcare workers that worked hand-in-hand to fight against the Pandemic. We've also lost many throughout the outbreaks. Nurses working in hospitals, medical clinics, private clinics, etc. Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, etc. My current career, I get to communicate a lot with Nurses working in the Operating Room. Although I'm not the one that are with them during the surgeries, but as what my position is called, "OR Core Aide", I'm one of the staff they go to when they need extra instruments or that they are missing from their instrument sets. I would either help them call the appropriate department for the item, or when it's sent up in the elevator, I will be the one handing it off to them in the Operating Room they are in. The hospital I work at, is a smaller one, not a trauma hospital, so the OR doesn't need to be opened for 24hrs, actually, our hospital is not considered as a 24/7 operating times. Only the ER is probably open, Nurses in the OR, are only on call until 11pm, Monday - Friday. So, as Nurses working in the OR at my hospital, they get weekends off, as well as Statutory Holidays. Nurse Practitioners are usually the ones working in Medical Clinics, at least, that is where I've seen them. Have you ever met a caring Nurse? What was the encounter like that you had with her/him?

Welcome to our little corner of the internet!

We want to create a safe space for you to discuss anything and everything relating to student and career life.

✔ Show kindness and respect to everyone when posting threads or replying to others

✔ Always include a trigger warning if your post may be potentially triggering to others

Do not share links to essay writing websites (or similar), plagiarism and cheating is not accepted

✔ When helping others, always ensure you create sample problems to help peers rather than doing the work for them

✔ Religious topics are allowed as long as they are discussing; how school impacts your beliefs, how beliefs impact your school/education or how belief impacts your view of your career choice or work life.

✔ If you are in doubt, please PM tommy or another community mentor to ask for clarification before posting.

Thank you for being part of our 7Cups family ♡
