Stressed about externship applications
Hi all,
I am starting clinical rotations for my veterinary program in March, and I am supposed to line up some elective rotations by applying to clinics outside my school. It's been stressful because it has been hard to get a hold of someone at my school to clarify the scheduling. I just found out I got accepted to one for four weeks next summer, but I have to give them an answer by the end of September. The person at my school running the rotation planning has changed several times. I emailed one person who said she is not responsible and to email someone else, so I just emailed them today. I am thinking of giving maybe until Friday and then just calling them or going to the office.
I also applied to a second one that requires recommendations. I asked two people to send letters in the beginning of August. One has still not replied to my email, which has been stressing me out. I am going to ask my boss from the summer for a letter, which I think I should do tomorrow.
Not really looking for advice just an anxious rant/ramble lol.

It's completely normal to feel anxious about these matters, especially when you're dealing with changing contacts and unanswered emails. Remember that you're not alone in facing these challenges, and reaching out to your boss for a recommendation is a proactive step. Sometimes, a gentle nudge in the form of a follow-up email or phone call can help with getting the responses you need. Don't hesitate to reach out to your school's office if necessary – they are there to assist you in this process. Keep taking those steps forward, and you'll work through these challenges one at a time. Best of luck with your rotations and your journey in veterinary medicine!
