"No distractions" mode

I am partially inspired by a website called the quiet place project, here.

I like the 7 Cups system of Growth Points (for members/guests). Most of the time at least. But I feel like that, as well as other little pop-ups etc on the site, can sometimes cheapen the chatting experience. When I come here, I want to forget all that other stuff. When I get into a really deep and helpful chat with a listener, I want to tune out the distractions like little numbers and bars.

Maybe there could be a mode on the site to change the view such that you can only see one chat at a time? It would feel more intimate I think, and work on some psychological level to make both participants more engaged in the conversation.

Anyone with me on this?

That might be a very nice "opt-in" feature. I don't think the zillions of levels and points particularly help me even if I do like getting upvotes or hearts. I tend to simply ignore the distractions but know others like you might find them obtrusive.

It might be because I read things automatically. Like, while waiting for my listener to reply, my eyes flit over the rest of the screen and compulsively read what's there. So it feels more intrusive to me, perhaps, than it does to you ^.^

I kind of like it...may sound weird but in a way it keeps me motivated.

Hey! I hope you're having a lovely day.

I do believe this is an amazing idea, for both members and listeners alike. With distractions, it can be hard to focus solely on one member at one time. Might I suggest you send this in to the Suggestion Box?

This way, the admins and higher-ups can see this suggestion, whereas it may be missed in this forum. Very good idea, though! I'm a full supporter!
