February 2021 Community Update!

Dear Community,

I hope you all are well! Things are good here. We had a couple of warm days and sun. I hope things are warming up where you are as well.

The big news from us this last month was getting the growth path builder (playlist) live. We’ve also posted a number of videos to help explain how it works and how researchers can get connected. You can find them here, here, and here.

One last quick note from me, I do a lot of research and thinking on how to better understand 7 Cups. What we are doing is novel and there are often not a lot of maps for what we have created together. I put this video together several weeks ago on how 7 Cups is like an ecosystem. More recently, I’ve been doing research on gift exchanges or gift economies. It occurs to me that 7 Cups could also be viewed from this perspective, but in a digital medium with less emphasis on a shared social ledger (people concerned with how much each person is giving) due to anonymity. I’ll share more on this soon, but if anyone has ideas or has done research in this space, then please pm me.

Laiba/Hope

It has been a big month for 7 Cups Academy! We launched the Quality Leadership Program that aims to familiarize the trainees with the components and quality listening and giving them training in quality leadership. Additionally we rolled out surveys to get feedback on the Building Community and the Group Leadership and Dynamics development programs.

After reviewing the feedback for building community programs, we have updated the coursework load and made the requirements list available to all interested users. We have also updated the requirements to join to fit the program better. We are confident that these changes will improve the experience of our trainees. We will review the GLDD survey feedback soon and make changes if necessary.

We have also created one mentor application for all 7 Cups academy programs for easy access. It will be used moving forward to recruit mentors for all academy programs. Moreover, @anotherfrenchtoastclub became the very first 7 Cups Academy Ambassador, focusing on the Leadership Development Program.

Lastly, we introduced LinkedIn verification/endorsements for our 7 Cups academy graduates.

Programs Update by @SoulfullyAButterfly

The Content end of things has been strengthened by the Content Development and Marketing Program (CDM) for the 7 Cups Academy. We currently have 28 enrolled students in 3 batches, and the first two will soon publish their first articles. They have been doing a great job at creating graphics for our social media platforms too alongside other audits and reviews.

The Content Team will also be working on the growth paths starting this month, which should bring more content variety!

On the Translations Project end, we have designed a new structure which involves leaders fluent in different languages heading translation efforts. In addition, we are working hard to translate the Hindi version of the new App and should be finished by the end of this quarter (month) - look out for the announcement later this week!

Evelyne [Quality Specialist]

We are full swing in building our Anonymous Evaluations Team! We have added @LuluRings as a PA and @RebekahRoyal as a co-lead with @MidnightRaven999. We are collecting stats and analyzing data in order to improve our quality operatives on site. As we collect data, we will let the community know helpful resources to address the results we find.

The Safety Awareness Team is also gearing up! They are consistently creating quizzes and hosting safety discussions to inform the community about proactive actions and to help them learn best safety practices.

Mimi [Teen Coordinator]

Dearest Community! It’s been an absolute wonder to take a dive into the mystical and magical lands of our Teens. I just wanted to personally thank each and every one of you for having connected with me, briefed me through your roles and responsibilities, guided me through different areas and perks of being part of such a collaborative and colourful community.

So here I am! Bringing you the latest and greatest in TeenLand. We started off this month with the exciting launch of the studio, a space for us to put our minds together and conquer new quests and missions, as well as enjoy splurging on free cookies. March is coming in strong! And the studio is being dusted out for our weekly meetings! You heard that right, me, you, noni! Keep an eye out for more details in the Teen CM Station!

On the project side of things, birthdays continue to be celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm! Lots of helium balloons, and expressions of gratitude. Want to arrange a birthday bash for one of your friends? Fill this form out here!. In light of peer support, our teen listener check-ins continue to remain active! Expect me to pop in frequently this month as we all go back to our roots and focus on applying our active listening qualities within our own circle! I’m thrilled to be welcoming @DonaldDraper to Teenland! They’ll be supporting and encouraging pop-up discussions!

Speaking of Circles - We’re planning to get a glimpse of how the community feels when it comes to “Healthy Habits”. We’re always looking to improve and personalize the experience for our teen listeners and members. Watch this space for more details. Let’s continue to tip the iceberg with our icebreakers, check-ins and themed projects and events.

Tazzie [Subcommunities]

It has been a fruitful and an exciting month with quite a few developments. Our ambassador @Mel along with their team, onboarded new forum leaders and launched the Get to Know Our Forums series. We welcome everyone interested in learning more about the forums to explore the series.

@CheeryMango joined the Subcommunity Leadership team as our newest Subcommunity Mentor Leader! Mango has been an instrumental force in adding structure and quality to our subcommunities. With their support, we have launched the Self-Care Lounge project with an aim to create awareness about mental, physical and emotional well-being. Mango has also been working in collaboration with our Forum Teen Star @optimisticMagic0014 on the Weekly Community Activities project to highlight creative and fun forums across subcommunities!

Last but certainly not the least, our sub-community leaders hosted World Cancer Day, a Kindness Challenge and other community events this February.

It was a month of some new support activities, challenges, campaigns and resources. We launched Well Being Workshop which is a 5 days session focused on and around topics related to well being. It was good to hear that you all found this workshop helpful. We will work on adding more slots to keep it running proactively every month.

We also started a small campaign to bring inclusivity and minimize cliques in the group. If you didn’t participate yet, we invite you to take this challenge and help us bring more compassion and support in the group interactions. We created a mini welcome pack for our new members and listeners to make it easy to get started. We also started weekly meetups for the community which you could attend every Sunday.

On training & meetups news, we started Host Training, Biweekly meetups for our wonderful discussion leaders and hosts. We also launched listener learning sessions. As well as, we made a change in the moderator’s training and made it form based to make the training & onboarding process swift than before.

Group Support Leaders are working on reviving support team sessions as well as fun sessions. We are also going to launch an Events Team, for more updates on it, please stay tuned. We invite everyone to join & participate in these wonderful events & sessions because they are organized for you. These sessions & group chat rooms are for all.
