Topic Selection in Listener Requests Does Not Change
New Listener here, but this is also something I've noticed recently on my Member account.
Unless Members have their chat with Noni open, they do not go through the questions (ie: choose a topic, how long have you been feeling this way, etc.) when requesting a listener. If Members are on another page of the site and choose "Connect Now" from the top toolbar of the site, they're immediately added to the general queue. Since the member did not go through the question session with Noni, they're unable to change the topic they want to talk about. It's just strange to accept a request for one topic, and hear about a completely different issue!
@CowAtSeven I've been really annoyed at this issue too (mostly on the member side, because then you have to explain to listeners that your topic isn't what was shown because you had no choice about it). At first it was only in the app, which has never asked for a topic, but in the last couple weeks it has also been for the browser version. You click connect now and just get "okay, connecting you" without any Noni message at all anymore. If you don't click connect now as usual and instead go through Noni and can eventually get her to connect you to a listener (usually involves jumping through hoops to find the right keywords she needs), then she'll go through the usual pick your topic, how long has this been going on, etc. I don't know why it was ever changed. And if it was going to be changed, at least clear out the chat topic so that nothing shows up, rather than using the last used one or sometimes it's even just the topic you last used for your wellness test. @7CupsCommunity

It sounds that having a short form before entering the queue might be helpful so that your able to get the best support. We will forward this over to the community team.

Was the textbox idea implemented?
I wish it worked before Noni was involved. We picked a topic before the request was sent. When it wss working with Noni, the request gets sent and then there's a few clicks before a topic is picked. Sometimes these leads to listeners picking up the chat before they see the topic being listed and they don't want the chat.
@AffyAvo 100% agree, Noni wasn't a great option at all because of the timing issue, but at least better than the current nothing. I feel the exact same, I've always thought that picking a topic should be mandatory before the request goes into the queue at all (not even through Noni, just having a list to pick from in the same connect now window), even if the topic is just "general chat" or something for people who don't want to pick a topic. It always felt strange that you get put into the queue before picking your topic, so end up potentially getting picked by a listener who doesn't take your topic (either because nothing was listed or more likely, the wrong thing was listed because it just carried over from last chat request)...stressful to have to race to try to pick your topic before getting picked up
@AffyAvo
I would love this!
Ideally what I would like to see: members should be able to select a general topic (which would also help with sorting purposes) and give a short description (Topic: Relationship Issues; Description: had a big argument with my best friend), THEN their request should be put in the queue.
This would let members have the chance to talk before their request is picked up by a clueless listener, and also give the listener a better idea of what sort of chat to expect.
@CowAtSeven Yes, a text box would be great!
