Hello I'm new to 7 cups. My nickname is Laura and I'm struggling with depression but I came here in search of support because I'm currently in a situation of alot of emotional abuse and I can't really get away from it or the toxic family members causing it. I'm getting back on my feet after my divorce and I'm behind in life and am also on ssi disability so I don't have many choices currently for housing so I'm stuck in this situation.
I'm living with my aunt and uncle. My aunt tries to control everything I do even though I'm 27 years old. I mean everything she won't let me cook clean or do my own laundry. I have absolutely no privacy and when I try to talk with them they everyday no joke somehow turn conversations into bashing lgbt rights and politics. Which btw I am in the lgbt community so it's degrading. Also they constantly move my personal possessions to places where I have no clue where they put my stuff it's always in my room just never where I put it. I have to rely on them for transport as I'm in a rural area with no busses
In order for me to gain full independence I have to save up money for a car learn to drive and get an apartment (the apartment part is tricky because I receive ssi disability because of my depression I can't hold a stable job) so most likely I will have to wait for public housing or section 8 voucher.
Anyone have any advice on how to survive emotional abuse and passive aggressive behaviors?
Hello! I'm happy to be here :)
