Hi,I am 17 and I want tell my parents that I self harm but I am afraid. What to do. Is it better if I tell them. My parents are good but not very accepting. What should I do

I think you should tell them because they are still your parents when it comes to stuff like that parents will find it hard to accept it but they are your parents and will love you no matter what at the end of they day and if you tell them they will try to take the proper steps with you to try and help you out more and better so they don’t end up losing their loved one so I personally believe that even though it’s hard you should come out and try to tell them because at the end of the day they’ll love you and be there for you

You do not have to tell them. You are old enough to be independent, but if you wanna share with them, you can think of writing a letter to them. When you will have face to face conversation, you can politely tell them to listen to you without judgement. They might get upset after listening to your story because they are your parents after all, but kindness here is worth it. Validate their feelings and they will do in returns after they feel calm.

I want to share this with them cause I not too good with this but I have idea what to do if I were a letter what should I write.
