We all have scars whether physical or even mental. What has helped you accept your scars and not be ashamed of them?

@SandyM

oh man, this is honestly such a great question!! i think part of what makes me me is my scars; i have earned them and i have got them and they are part of me now, however ugly they are. scars are proof that i have tried and that i have done wrong, and while they may be the uglier sides of me they are part of what makes me, me; it's just that i must not let the scars define me, lest i believe that i am something much less than what i am. does that make any sense? XD

This is a very important, thought-provoking question! I think one way to look at scars are that they are a representation of places you've been, things you've been through. They can be viewed as a signal of growth and a reminder of the past.
