So like I think my mom just found out about my sh........ I told her I fell outside on the ice, but I can tell she doesn't believe me...... Any tips?

That's sounds like a streesful situation. While it's always better if we would have someone close, whom we could to about SH... It's way more convenient and comfortable to let them know and open up with them on our own pace. I can understand why it has been bothering you.



If you find it hard to tell her or answer her queries about it , ( which is very valid and understandable ), you can text her. You both can stay at home , Maybe separate rooms and text eachother about it. I am aware that it's not following any norms of " normal " conversation. But this way you can let her know everything you want to tell her at the moment , easyly. Remember that this is just my suggestion. You are an expert on your life . You are in control!


Not all parents are aware of self harms and the reason one does it. It's easy to mistake it as something done to get attention. At first glance few may think it's something one could stop if they "want" to. However it's not that easy. Don't get taken aback if they don't see your struggle behind it initially. We all take time to wrap our heads around new things. If it is new to them, let them some time to know more about it , from you, online etc . It's not easy or fair on either of you. But it will get easier , I promise.
