advice?

honestly im new to 7cups so im not too sure on how this works, but i want to ask, ive gotten into cutting myself over the psat month the last time i relapsed was jan 1 so clean for almost 2 weeks now, trying to stop before it gets worse but i feel the urge getting louder for this addiction

any advice?

Hi there! I just wanna let you know you’re not alone in this struggle!


I was self harming when I was a freshman in highschool, and I became addicted to it, I did it every day multiple times a day until I was around 18, it’s hard. I started by putting the sharp object down, and used something that felt similar but would not damage my body. Rubber bands, credit cards, pinching, something that would hurt but not leave something permanent behind like scars.


now today at 23, i still think about it. Rarely, once in a blue moon but it is still a thought that pops up. If you have hobbies, take those moments of wanting to self harm and immediately do that hobby. Make it a distraction, if you like excersise or wanting to start, every time you feel like you want to hurt yourself go on a walk outside. Stop and look at the plants and rocks, see if you can spot animals or birds.


it’s not a easy thing, but acknowledging and asking for help is a huge big step that I am proud of you for taking♥️
