Self-Harm Recovery Daily Check-In: Sunday April 26, 2020

With everything that's been going on, it's important to take our weekends to take care of ourselves and find healthy coping mechanisms for everything we might be going through. With it being Sunday again, we'll focus on coping mechanisms for today.

Here are today's check-in questions:

) How was your week so far? How would you rate it out of 1-10?

I would rate my week a 2 because I mostly had bad days but towards the end I felt a little better. I'm still off and on though.

2) What new or old coping tactics or strategies interest you this weekend?

A new one is making a check list for little things I can accomplish in my day.

3) How do you think you can start implementing those in your life?

Do one little thing at a time.

4) Why do you think it's important to do so?

It keeps my mind on track and distracts me from destructive thoughts or acting out in frustration

Hey there, sorry for the delay !

Im sorry to hear your week mostly had bad days, how is this new one coming along so far? Also, were you able to maybe identify the things that didnt go well or the things that helped last week so as to manage the next ones better?

This sounds like a great idea to make this kind of check list! What do you think you will be putting on it?

I hope you have been able to implement this technique you were planning for this week and that it has been helpful, dont hesitate to let us know how it is going! Take care!

It's still off to a bad start but it's just begun so I'll do my best to cope. My thoughts were harmful during last week so I have to practice being more critical with them and self care. The things I would put on my checklist are "take a deep breath then make your bed." "take a deep breath then have breakfast." and so on.

I'd rate it an 8 but maybe that's just because I'm in a good mood right now lol

2) What new or old coping tactics or strategies interest you this weekend?

The idea of mindfulness and taking time for self-care and doing some yoga has been something I've been doing more often lately!

3) How do you think you can start implementing those in your life?

I think I can try to add in an extra yoga session other than my yoga for digestion!

4) Why do you think it's important to do so?

I think it's important to do so to appreciate my body for all that it can do, even if it's not perfect in my mind.
