Friends in recovery

For today's event we are going to talk about supporting our peers in school in their journey of recovery❤️

Recovery is a hard journey for most of us we try, we get better, we relapse sometimes more than we would like to admit but that doesn't mean that we have failed. Real failure is when we stop trying.

With school starting many among us might be going through a journey to recover. The journey to recovery might feel like a long and daunting process but having a little support even the slightest bit of encouragement or a simple "I am here for you" might go a long way.

We can support our peers in many ways including being willing to learn and to teach everyones journey is different and there's always something we can learn from that. Educating those who might not be familiar with aspects of self harm can help go a long way too.

Being willing to listen without judgement is a great way to support your friends sometimes all we need is a shoulder to cry on, a friend to talk to.
