Every day in society you see teens hanging out, and it doesnt matter whether its just a pair of best friends, or a big group of teens. It also doesnt matter whether theyre at the mall, the movie theater, in one of their friends houses, in the comfort of their own homes, or even here at 7 Cups they are hanging out regardless. We (members of the Teen Safety Team) know this because in a lot of ways (including age) we are a lot like you guys, and thats why Im here. Hey everyone Im Arianna and Im here to give you guys 5 of my top favorite tips on how to help your buddies stay safe in this sometimes dangerous world! After this I will be asking you guys a few questions to kind of wrap up todays topic, but otherwise keep reading to get this whole thing started! πππΌβ¦

Section #1: Tips
#1. If a friend comes to you clearly shaken up take a moment to listen to whatever is bothering them because you never know if its something that could have them be in danger. Who knows you might save a life π€·π»ββοΈ.
#2. While we at 7 Cups dont approve of underage drinking realistically we know it happens. So if you see a buddy drunk absolutely do not let them drive even if you have to take their keys away, and risk them being mad at you as having a mad friend is a lot better than having a dead friend.
#3. If you see a friend getting hurt in real life please reach out to a trusted adult. It doesnt matter whether its a parent, a teacher, or even your local law enforcement just please reach out to someone! Your friend will be a lot safer if you do.
#4. If you see a friend getting harassed here at 7 Cups please encourage them to make a report, but dont stay quiet yourself either. There are multiple ways to report a troubling person here such as #1. Reaching out to a moderator if the problem took place in a group support room setting. #2. If theres a serious situation going on in a group support room that does not currently have a moderator you can page an on call community moderator to diffuse the situation by going to this form. #3. If its a problem in a private setting encourage your friend to reach out to our main community manager @Heather225 as she used to be our safety coordinator she is very good at coming up with safety solutions. Side Note: You can also contact either @Hope who is our new Community Manager on the teen side, or @ASilentObserver (Obs) who is our new Community Manager for everything regarding group support here at 7 Cups! (Congratulations to all 3 of you on your new positions!!! πππΌπ₯³) #4. If your friend has screenshots of the situation, or if screenshots are required please encourage your friend to email those to 7 Cups with a description of the situation at community@7cups.com. Lastly #5. If a friend is triggered by an inappropriate profile encourage them to report it by either bringing it to the attention of a Safety Patrol Team Member, or by reporting the account themselves by using the Safety Patrol Teams new form created by @MidnightRaven999!!! P.S. Theres no excuses for staying quiet if a friend is being hurt as you can report a situation using these methods as well. Just know a report of yours might not be as valuable as you wouldnt have a lot of the potentially necessary evidence. Thats why its so necessary to encourage the person its happening to, to report but if theyre not comfortable you dont have to stay quiet.
#5. Lastly just be a good role model/a good person in general who knows you could get some friends to follow in your footsteps ββπ€·π»ββοΈπ...
