How Does 7 Cups Keep Teens Safe?
Hi everyone its @AriannaPink (Arianna or Ari) back with another topic for you! Without further ado lets get started, and I hope you enjoy it!!! ππ...
*********************************************************************************************************************************************
According to my listener 7 Cups home screen as of right now our statistics state that in this past week we have obtained 533 referrals, and have had 54,310 private 1-1 conversations between a member & a listener. Also last week we had 867 referrals, and 88,851 private 1-1 conversations. If you add those numbers up it means that over the past week and a half (considering this post is being written on a Wednesday) we have had about 1,400 referrals, and also about 143,165 private 1-1 conversations between a member & a listener. Im sure youre wondering why Im spewing numbers at you all especially those of you teens like me who cant stand math from the beginning! The reason why is because I want you guys to soak this information in so you can think of the amount of people we must have as a whole if these statistics are only from the last week & a half, and then also think of the responsibility required to make sure every person on this platform is safe no matter what. I know not all the rules are fun, and that some of you think theyre just to control us. However I promise thats not the case so as we get further in todays topic please try to keep an open mind. Note: You guys are allowed to have an opinion (thats why anyone can post to a thread), and I dont care if it differs from mine just as long as whatever you have to say is said respectfully. Other than that lets have a conversation! π Now without further ado lets get started on todays topic How Does 7 Cups Keep Teens Safe?!!! ππΌ...

Section #1: Efforts 7 Cups makes in keeping all of us safe
#1. They enforce guidelines, and expect us to follow them. Guidelines are basically rules, and while we do have a lot of them they exist for good reasons! If you would like to learn more about the specifics regarding guidelines here at 7 Cups I would recommend reading @SnailPurples upcoming post from the Teen Safety Team coming out 02/23/2020 as its a great read with a lot of important information, and clickable links! πππΌβ¦
#2. We have people you can report Safety issues to such as Forum Teen Stars if you notice a problem in the forums, the Safety Patrol if you notice an inappropriate profile (or use their newly created form here if youd prefer to report the issue yourself), typically Moderators are usually in the rooms so they typically see & tackle issues in our Group Support Rooms firsthand. However if theres an issue in a room with no moderator currently you can report the issue, and get assistance with the problem by using this form! Lastly if all else fails we have some amazing managers that run certain parts of 7 Cups right now that can help if it ever comes to needing them. First on that list is @Heather225 they currently run the adult side/most of 7 Cups, however they also used to be our Safety Coordinator so they are very knowledgeable in that area, and don't really mind helping out. Next is @Hope, and they are not only our teen manager, but they also are in charge of the internship program here at 7 Cups so they certainly have some experience here as well, and may know some more teen appropriate tricks in solving safety issuesβ¦ Last but certainly not least is @ASilentObserver (Obs)! Obs is our group support manager, and they are doing an excellent job in making sure that the right guidelines, and things are in place to make sure we remain safe in the group support rooms! Theyre also very kind so if you ever have an issue in group support please dont be afraid to reach out to them if you need to! πβ¦ P.S. not everyone in certain roles may be a teen, or an ATL so please keep that in mind when you look for someone to help you, especially someone in either the Moderator role, or someone from the Safety Patrol Team. Thank you so much in advance for your cooperation!!! ππππΌ...
#3. We also have other resources to report safety related issues (among other things) in the form of email addresses, and forms that dont require you to have to PM anybody. Just to name a few first off we have a community email address which is community@7cups.com & this is a great resource to use if you need to provide screenshots when making a report! Next if youre a member thats having an issue with a listener theres so many ways to alert someone that theres a problem. You can leave listeners a review (yes each review especially the low rated ones are thoroughly looked into!), you can block them which in turn reports the listener as well for whatever action you chose (Warning: Please dont jump to this option right away unless theyre breaking a rule, or you truly feel in danger. Please do your best to practice verbal conflict resolution first, thank you!), or if youre a listener having issues with another listener you are more than welcome to use our L-L report form by clicking here! For access to our complete list of forms please click here, and if youd like to learn more about the reporting process please go to my very first Teen Safety Team post ever by clicking here or follow up with @SnailPurples post that is coming out in two weeks on 02/23/2020! π...

Section #2: How we can help 7 Cups keep ourselves safe
#1. We can follow each rule, guideline, and protocol. I know thats not always very fun but rules are made for a reason, and all of your guys safety matters! πβ¦
#2. We can be cautious about what personal information we give people. For example people know my first name, and the state I live in however they do not know my last name, or the city I live in so thats how I personally like to protect my own personal identity here at 7 Cups!
#3. We can avoid conflict with other members or listeners in the group support rooms by not engaging in any active, ongoing conflict & letting only moderators handle situations like that, that arise. Once again if you need to page an on call moderator you may do so by using this form!
#4. If we see someone breaking a rule, or theyre making us feel uncomfortable we can report their actions to both protect ourselves, and others.
#5. Most importantly we can all do our best to both respect each other, and each others own individuality. Now Im not saying we all have to like each others opinions all of the time as were all individual, and unique thats realistically not gonna happen, and I dont expect it to either. However what I do expect is for the situation to be discussed respectfully even if you have to agree to disagree to avoid conflict with one another π...
