problem with posting
Each post I make to the original writer in an existing thread gets directed to the bottom of the middle of the conversation of whoever last posted. Result is I'm being posted as if I'm replying to kids and others.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but, you should mind the difference between:
+ Post to this Thread
This option will add a post on the thread without being a reply by itself. Is the best option when you want to add something to the forum conversation but you don't want to direct it to a specific user person that posted on it.
+ Reply
This option will add a post on the thread, but it will be a direct response to another user post. For example, now I'm using the "Reply" option on you since I'm replying to your question.
Hope it solves the doubt ;)
I swear I'm using +Post This Thread green box, like now, either at the very top or the very bottom of the page.
