I really want to become a psychologist
Hello everyone! I'm going to be applying to college in the next year and I really want to get into some form of therapy, psychology, or psychiatry. Does anone have tips on how to acomplish this, what type of extra curriculars, how to know if you're cut out for the job, etc? Any help is appreciated, both for me and anyone else who stumbles upon this with the same questions. Thank you so much for your help.

I looked at your profile and saw that you've been through tough times yourself, you know what it's like to need someone to listen, you find joy in helping others, your ratings here so far are just great and someone thinks you're an amazing listener—a long list of things that make me think you're definitely cut out for a job in one of the areas you mention. I don't know enough about college applications to give you any tips, unfortunately, but I hope you find a way to get where you want.

I'm in a similar position to you and can't wait to focus on just psychology!
Personally, I've done an online course in educational psychology that was really great; helped out in schools with kids that are more challenged (mentally or physically); documentaries are always enjoyable and eduational aha; and I'm doing an internship here as well :)
It's been suggested I shadow a clinical psychologist as well

I'm currently doing an MSW (Master of Social Work) program, as I would like to be a psychotherapist. You didn't mention social work, so I wanted to add it as a possible option for you to consider. Most therapists nowadays are social workers, so it's worth it to look into this if you want to go that route.
