Why don
Hey! I was just curious as to why one would have to take a mini pill at the same time every day, but I dont have to take my combination pill at the same time every day! I take my combination pill every day, but not at the same time (because sometimes I sleep in)
is there a reason for this? Should I still be taking mine at the same time even though its not needed?
Thank you!
@Sssssssstop It's ideal to take it at the same time every day, although personally I focus moreso on the routine (ie. taking my meds before I go to bed) rather than a specific time.
The reason why more care is needed with the timing of the mini-pill is because it doesn't always prevent ovulation, so the main pregnancy-prevention method is by preventing sperm from fertilizing an egg that has been released, as well as preventing implantation if fertilization occurs.
The combination pill does all 3 quite well, and ovulation has to occur first for the latter 2 to follow.
