My Sex is Love:
Why the S in my ASL [Age, Sex, Location] profile is ambigous.

There is a great need on 7 Cups of Tea to talk about the elephant in the room that is in many of our lives and feel to feel empowered, not intimidated by that elephant in the room - That elephant being sex.

The difficulty of any Listener, especially those that identify their bodies as women when approaching this subject is that there
tends to be a tendency for members to sexualize those that are helping them when they list a specific gender.

Now, this in most cases is helpful to be relatable and offer an environment of empathetic peer support.

It's nice to be able to say to someone, "I understand because I am some of that, too."

However, I find, more important than being complete mirrors of a person's identity, it is important to have cultural competence to say to the person, "I don't understand - but I am working to understand, let's learn together" when that time comes.

This being done by being honest and letting the person know that they matter, no matter where they are at in the world.

This level, this place is often not reached when Listeners identify with a specific gender because they often become sexualized, losing the point and purpose of the dialogue - that dialogue being about finding help for the Member's sexual outlets.

Indeed, I have explored both worlds, female and male, in and out; coming to the same conclusion with all gender constructs and orientations - what matters most is what is beneath the flesh, the life force that is within, the love that is given, living - the heart that is beating.

That all said, my sex is love -
It's the checkbox that is open that holds the Female, Male and all checkboxes.

[ √ ] Love
