Hey!

I have a lot of anxiety around going for an STI test because Im afraid of what they might say. I know that as a sexually active teen, I should get tested but Im just really scared of what will happen, and I feel very anxious about the entire thing. I dont think there is anything wrong with me, and Ive only had two sexual partners, but what if there is something very very bad that I dont know about!

I know I should just get it done, but Im literally terrified and Ive put it off for so long that theres not even a good excuse anymore.

do you guys have any advice?

It's normal to feel a bit scared, everyone feels like this before this sort of tests. But you are showing great maturity and responsibility by caring about your health. I am sure that you know how important it is, and you also know that it's better to do this sort of things as soon as you can - there's a good chance that, even if something is wrong, knowing about it soon will allow you to ensure yourself the best level of wellbeing possible. Prevention is the best way to take care of yourself and make sure that you are as healthy as possible, and it will also help you to get rid of the worries which are affecting you and finally be in peace with yourself.

Of course, using protection during sexual activities is the number one rule to be safe and not have to worry, but if you didn't do it or if you are worried anyway, doing some tests will restore your serenity and you will finally feel good again!

If you feel too scared, maybe you can ask a friend to go with you and support you. Sometimes it can be of great help to know you are not alone!

I wish you good luck!
