Mobile phones

intelligentTiger5312 August 14th, 2022

I am getting so sick and tired of mobile phones. It seems they are an essential part of everyone's life but they are dehumanising us so quickly. How many times is the mobile phone chosen over you or you choose it over someone else?? It's so sad that interactions with real people are taken over by a small screen. It's soul destroying, destructive and ruining relationships. We wonder why so many people feel lonely, isolated or neglected.. Its because of the mobile phone. It takes people away from others, it creates isolation and it makes people ignore each other. I try to limit it's use when I'm in company of others, human interaction in the present moment is priceless, don't devalue it by turning to your mobile phone, that is rude and disrespectful to the people in your company. We are turning in to selfish, self centred people and then question why we feel lonely! If I'm in your company and you choose to look at your phone then don't question why I have walked away.

I could not agree more ....... it is amazing to be in a restaurant or other place and see groups of people standing or sitting with each other but they could not be farther as each is engrossed into staring at the screen of phone. it is only polite to shut off or put away the phone when with real people

Totally agree with you! And its sad that only few ppl are realising what mobile phones/social media is turning human beings into! Its going to be one of the biggest addictions for our generation! Especially children! Hopefully ppl will realise this soon and not let these devices take our real lives away from us!

I try to be cautious about the time I spend on my phone and make sure that i don’t waste time on stuff that is useless! Bring conscious that we control mobiles and mobiles doesnt control us has helped me reduce the usage and live in the real world

So glad I'mnot the only one feeling this way. I really do worry about the future and the next generations. Zombie world is not such a fictional vision! Also, I find social media causing so much damage too, influencing in such a negative way. Addictive, time wasting and mind numbing. Gone are the days where the Internet provided a only library to increase knowledge, it's all about satisfying fragile egos and keeping everyone hooked to generate millions for the tech companies with awful apps such as tik tok.

At least on here, we get to think, reflect and help others. Being productive not destructive.

I hope the trend is turning as many more seem to have not been active or using for example FB .....

It becomes obvious what damage this is when you look at mow many ppl ate tide pods or have died or injured themselves doing "challenges" or taking selfies.
