How to say you want to move out, but not break up?

modestHuman4930 July 6th, 2023

I've been in this relationship for 2 yrs. Lived together for 1.5. I am a very private introvert, partner is a very outgoing extrovert. Our lifestyle, home standards have become too misaligned for me to be happy.

I want to move back out on my own, but not necessarily break up.

Any advice???

Hello @modestHuman4930

Welcome to the community, I can understand the situation and it's okay to feel that way.

Every relationship needs an open and honest conversation, you can talk to him how you feel and why. And let him talk as well.

Have a good day 😊

i say just be honest and tell him how you feel and explain how you feel like since you both are opposites (you being a private introvert and him being an outgoing extrovert) you guys living together is causing you stress due to you both living a different lifestyle but explain how you like your relationship and feel it would be stronger if you lived separately for a while and maybe one day you can move back together, i understand how you feel and i hope everything works out for you i wish you the best :)

@ioan489,

sometimes people are meant to be together, yet they can't live together.

I've met those kind of people, people who have been together for even decades yet they can't live together.

So they have their own place. They spend time together, even in each other's home. And when one of them needs space that one person goes home. Just knowing that you have your own place and can go home anytime helps a lot.

It requires acceptance, respect for boundaries, and more than just a romantic relationship.
