Hello Relationship and Friendship community! I hope every single one of you is having a good day or night. I also hope everyone is staying safe as well! It's the start of a new week, which means a fresh new start for us!

We all receive one gift that means the world to us, even so to the point we'd break down if we ever lost that gift. That's why the question of the week is: What is one gift that you've received from your Partner or Friend that means the absolute world to you? Why does it mean the world to you? Is there a story, or inside joke connected to it?

Yours Truly~

The gift that I got from my husband is his commitment. He has been there through thick and thin. Neither of us have been perfect, and we've made tons of mistakes along the way but he stayed committed to the relationship -- through illness, through being financially strapped students, through things that felt unforgivable on both sides, to seeing the worst in both of us.... still stayed committed and continued to try to work things out...

Another gift I Absolutely need in friendships or in intimate relationships-the ability to accept safety boundaries and to respect when I say...no, I can't.

Commitment is probably THE most underrated gift, even though it is the greatest gift that can be bestowed on someone. I don't particularly care if my significant other is rich or famous or materialistically wealthy, but as long as you provide commitment, I will do likewise. It definitely seems that you and your husband are doing beautifully and I wish you two a lifetime of happiness <3

Thanks so much... we are both survivors of different experiences... and it took us about 15-16 years of therapy, but we finally reached a place where we rarely quarrel with each other and mostly trust the other person loves and supports us. I never thought it was possible and many years I felt hopeless, raw and directionless... and we both harbored so much resentment at feeling like trapped victims in our marriage.... I'm grateful we both found our spirituality and am so grateful for god, higher power, the universe for healing both of us from our past. Thank you so much for your message it means more than you know! heart Hope you are having a good day!

@positiveEars2722 When I think of my favorite gift, I think of the one my sister gave me for my last birthday. It's a green build a bear stuffed animal with a red shirt. It doesn't sound like a lot but there was a lot of thought that went behind it. The month before my birthday, my grandmother passed away. Our birthdays are close enough together that we usually celebrated our birthdays jointly. But this year, when it was just me, I just didn't have any reason to celebrate.

But the bear my sister gave to me was dressed in my grandmother's favorite colors, attached to it's little red shirt was one of her beloved butterfly pins, and playing from the speaker inside was a recording of my grandmother's voice. Opening that gift brought me to tears instantly. The past month was no doubt a difficult month because I had never gone so long without her here with me and I missed my grandmother terribly (I still do- each and every day). However, I didn't realize how much I specifically missed hearing her voice until I pressed the bear's paw for the first time and heard that recording. I didn't realize how badly I NEEDED to hear my grandmother say that she's checking on me, she loves me and we'll see each other soon. I never thought I would hear those words again or hear her voice again.

My grandmother left a really big hole behind when she passed away. This gift that my sister gave to me in no way replaces her. But the bear makes the pain a little more manageable. I can't imagine how much worse I would be right now if I couldn't reach over and listen to my grandma whenever I needed to. I can't imagine what I would do if something happened to this little stuffed bear. It is truly irreplaceable.

A guitar pick I got from my best friend. I was still a kid and we didn't know back then. I kinda fell from a tree and broke my leg. He and his sister happened to be in the park at the time. She went to get someone while he stuck behind. He kinda gave me that guitar pick to get my concentration elsewhere, he had this huge story about how it's lucky and all that. That was kind of a over the top ice breaker but we started playing together after that, all three of us. I always carried that pick in my pocket, no matter where I went. For good luck or whatever reason I told myself. That friendship carried on to adulthood, up until he unfortunately left us.

I did lose that pick once. It was a hectic time, hospital involved. My current partner, a paramedic, was in charge of getting me into the hospital at that time. I dropped the pick in all that commotion, kinda. Broke me big time when I realized it. It was kinda the most important reminder I had of my friend and losing it was like losing him all over again.

Turns out my partner did pick it up when I dropped it and stuffed it in his pocket for safe keeping. Forgot about it all in the chaos of everything. It ended up in his stuff and he found it years later, going through his cabinets. He actually had a friend make it into a bracelet so that I wouldn't lose it again. Gave it to me as a Christmas present the first Christmas we spent with his parents, after we ended up in a relationship.

So yeah, it's been gifted to me twice by two people, and it's meant the world both of those times. Even tho it's just a stupid guitar pick.
