Online friend

So I have this friend online. I've known him for almost 6 months now, and he's really nice. He's helped me through a really tough place I was in. I consider him a really good friend.

I want to be able to call or FaceTime him, because I've never gotten to see his face or hear his voice. Thing is, I don't know how to ask him without sounding creepy. And I'm afraid he'll say no. How do I ask a question like that in a way that doesn't sound weird?

@FranklyMaple Maybe something like this, "Hey we've been chatting online for awhile -- would you be open to Facetiming or something?" Keep it brief and casual. I can't imagine anyone interpreting that as "creepy." If they put it off or refuse -- that may be a red flag that they aren't who they say they are or are trying to hide something.
